Korea to Invade Sydney
In excess of 750 delegates from BC Card Korea will descend on to Sydney in waves of 100 participants between May and June 2011. The incentive programme is worth over $3.7m to the economy.
BC Card is the largest credit card company in South Korea running many high volume incentive programmes for their card members every year.
BC Card is a regular visitor Sydney having conducted several incentive groups over the past 3 years.
The itinerary has been given an Australian feel and will be split between Sydney and Canberra. The programme will include tours to Canberra, Blue Mountains and Jervis Bay.
And the winner is Sydney - Popular Destination for International Conferences
Sydney has reaffirmed its position as one of the most popular destinations in the world for international conferences.
This week Business Events Sydney announced another four major events to be held during 2012 and 2013.
Australian Society for Ultrasound Medicine (ASUM) Annual Scientific Meeting 2012

The Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) is a multidisciplinary society whose primary role is to assist in disseminating scientific information, provide education and set standards of practice in this continually developing specialty. Its purpose is to promote the highest possible standards of medical Ultrasound practice in Australia and New Zealand.
Securing this event has been attributed to the appeal of Sydney as a destination to conduct business and the higher likelihood to attract support from ASUM's trade sponsors and delegates beyond numbers achieved at other cities.
IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC) 2012

The annual IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC) is one of the premier conferences in the wireless research arena and has a long history of bringing together academia, industry and regulatory bodies.
Business Events Sydney (BESydney) will be assisting the client with marketing activities for this year's events in Toronto in September.
19th International Liver Transplant Society Annual Congress 2013

Estimated value: $3.6 million
The International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS) was founded in 1990 by a group of physicians involved in the care of the liver transplant patients. The society was formed to provide a forum for best practices in clinical and ethical care.
The event will be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
International Conference of the World Federation of the Deaf 2013

Established in Italy, in 1951, World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) is an international, non-governmental central organisation of national associations of deaf people, with a membership of associations in 130 countries worldwide. WFD supports and promotes in its work the many United Nations conventions on human rights, with a focus on deaf people who use sign language, and their friends and family.
The conference will be a central event during the centenary celebrations of the Deaf Society of NSW in 2013, which will include a weeklong festival in Sydney. The festivities will include a community deaf festival at Tumbalong Park and possibly incorporate the annual Crave Festival.

Two New Incentive Groups Heading Sydney
Sydney has secured two more incentive groups who will generate over $15 million for the local economy.
The LG Group is a well known global Korean conglomerate established in 1947. It operates companies in 3 core business fields; Electronics, Chemicals and Telecommunications. LG has 147 subsidiaries overseas and employs a total of about 177,000 staff internationally.
LG is a valuable long term repeat client and have been bringing their incentive to Sydney for many years. This particular incentive group has 2,880 guests heading to Sydney in weekly waves, from March to May and September to October.
LG's itinerary will encompass a wide range of NSW experiences. Besides a full day's program in the city, delegates will spend a day in the Blue Mountains and then venture north to overnight in Port Stephens. Delegates will also have the option to select a farm experience or a tour of the Central Coast region.
The second group is Chang Hwa Bank, one of Taiwan's top 3 local banks. The bank was established in 1905 under Japanese rule in Chang Hwa County of Taiwan, and was only fully privatised in the late 1990s.
The bank has over 200 delegates heading to Sydney in April 2011 for a 5 day incentive tour taking in all the sights that Sydney has to offer.

Update on ATE 11 - Tourism Events NSW
It’s only four weeks until ATE11 commences in Sydney. Tourism NSW will keep the industry up-to-date with the latest developments and activities including a special daily ATE Insights email bulletin and Twitter posts as the event gets underway. Tourism NSW will also ask industry to share their ATE news with us or publication in the ATE bulletin. More details on the bulletin to come.
Current ATE developments include:
Around 40 students from the International College of Management in Manly will assist Tourism NSW in the Volunteer Program. In this pilot program, the students will be involved in escorting Sydney and NSW familiarisation tours and providing “meet and greet” and services at official Tourism NSW ATE functions. Tourism NSW briefed students yesterday at the college.
Tourism NSW and the Australian Hotels Association NSW are holding an ATE11 briefing for hotel concierge staff on Wednesday, 23 March. Concierge teams will be briefed on the event, functions and activities. The briefing will help concierges to assist ATE delegates staying at their hotels.
The AHA has distributed invitations with the following details: ATE Update, 3.30 pm registration for 3.45 pm start. AHA NSW, Hudson House, Level 15, 131 Macquarie Street, Sydney. RSVP11 Kicks Off New Look
Feathers, stockings and boy bands took over the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre earlier this week for the Sydney RSVP11 Launch Party.
Boys in the Band entertainment welcomed up to 500 attendees with classic music from Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the Beatles and Jackson Five.
As part of the event, RSVP unveiled its new events look which Sydney’s Event Showcase event manager Delwin Kriel said took months of planning and research with focus groups involving event visitors and exhibitors.
“RSVP11 will tantalise all your senses from smelling, touching and hearing,” Mr Kriel said.
“We have changed the colour... and are depicting the glamour and seriousness of the events industry.”
